Elza Gate Bridge
Photographed from across Melton Hill Lake (Clinch River), the northbounds chants are fairly quiet as it drifts across the Elza Gate Bridge. The current bridge spans were put in place in 1981, a major undertaking as the spans were robbed from an abandoned L&N line in west Tennessee, floated on barges down the Tennessee River and up the Clinch, and then placed on the old piers at their new home.

Jamie Rogers General I've actually crossed that bridge on foot in about 1962 as well as walking thru the tunnel that's about a mile up to the left. What a wonderful place for a child, I was a tomboy. 4/3/2017 4:33:20 PM
